Start blogging

It is the last day of 2008 and have decided to start a blog. It would be great to look back and remember what I have done in the past year. So here it is...

Today, E and I are taking the kids up to Auckland airport to pick up Saga and Rita. They were down in Christchurch for the tofiga and their kids stayed with us. My boys loved to have their cousins around and it is a good chance to test my motherly bearing to oversee 5 kids, wow, thank God I don't have that many. I don't know how my Mom could do that as there were 6 of us but mind you in Samoa there were no trips to the swimming pool or to the museum...there were no holiday trips apart from going to the beach occasionally and there were lots of family members helping out to look after the children. Back to the airport, the flight gets in about 9:30 am and we are driving down from Hamilton and the time now is 7:48 am. It would be interesting to see what time we leave the house.

We pick them up and get down here as quickly as possible to get our stuff ready for our road trip down to the middle of the North Island. We are planning to be away for about 7 days, going down New Plymouth, Wanganui then to Taupo, E would catch a ride with Yeong and the rest of us would keep going towards Hastings, Napier and Gisborne. Hope everyone will have a good time.

I am listening to one of my favourite songs by La oso. It's great to hear some relaxing song and staying at home ohhh I love it. I better get the kids ready...

Oh in the last few days, the kids J, S, D, I and O, we visited the Hamilton Museum. There is a great exhibition about the Waikato River, its history, the numerous dams built on the river to generate electricity, very interesting. Yesterday, we went to Waterworld, the kids had fun, probably there for about 4 hours. S, J and O tried the hydroslide and S could not have enough of the slide.

Xmas day, Saga's family went up to Auckland for a day. We the Hamiltonians had a quiet day at home, we had lamb rack with new potatoes and peas, was yummy. I slept after lunch then we went for a walk to the Hamilton garden with the boys, it was a lovely walk. The kids loved their toys.
